ABOUT ME
Siavash Tahan is a keen observer of the world, who enjoys analyzing the complex dynamics of human social institutions. He is interested in advancing discourse on social, political, and economic issues, and creating space for diverse voices. After reflecting on what creates culturally and economically vibrant cities that are a healthy environment for individuals and families, he realized that a career in real estate consulting could leverage his background in economics and public policy to improve people’s quality of life.
He has worked and volunteered in the non-profit sector with youth, and to advance environmental protection, he has also been engaged in the political process and increasing participation in civil society among hard to reach communities. More recently, he has begun to write for a public audience, and been published in the Union Jack newspaper and Palladium Magazine. His current ventures involve entrepreneurship and technology to help secure the values that sustain open, pluralistic, productive, and well-ordered societies. Interested in the application of blockchain to governance and the policy implications of crypto currency, he has been an investor in the crypto space since 2013.
MY VALUES
I immigrated to Canada with my family at a young age, and learned therefore to appreciate the factors that produce a healthy and well-ordered society. I cherish values and institutions such as the encoded charter of civil rights, a culture of free speech and tolerance, a clean natural environment, a culture of good honest governance, and a thriving commercial sector that secures prosperity for individuals and families. My intellectual interests lie at the intersection of public policy and economic growth, especially as it pertains to identifying what kind of culture, values, and norms build and sustain a good civilization. The ultimate framework for elites should be to identify what norms create good public policy and which policies create prosperity and security.
